East Ferry Avenue
Detroit, MI
As the Founder’s Society of the Detroit Institute of Arts was considering the disposition of five mansions on East Ferry Avenue – considered by some to the be the best collection late-Victorian architectural – Jay worked with Preservation Wayne (now Preservation Detroit) and a team of design, real estate and construction professionals to development the master plan for the East Ferry Avenue Arts & Heritage District redevelopment.
The master plan was adopted by the Founder’s Society, resulting in investment and the successful creation of The Inns on Ferry Avenue by the University Cultural Center Association (now Midtown Detroit). The project led to unprecedented investment around the District and throughout the area.
